Traveling with Yoga
This past year I had the privilege to attend three different yoga retreats as an egger yoga student. I traveled to Costa Rica, the Catskills, and Joshua Tree. All of these yoga experiences have enhanced my perspective and given me the tools to become the best version of myself. I got the chance to relax in these beautiful places and have a peaceful yoga practice in new environments - which was extremely inspiring. I learned new yoga tools that have grown my skillset and increased my confidence. These retreats allowed me to reconnect to myself and gain a deeper appreciation for the little things in life. Each teacher I got the chance to absorb knowledge from has left such a special impact on my journey. These yoga trips, traveling through different parts of the world, left me feeling so rejuvenated. Every yoga retreat I have been on holds a special place in my heart. Sometimes you have to take the risk and invest in yourself to live life to the fullest.
Nassau Costa Rica was dream trip I always envisioned the moment my 200hrYoga Teacher Training was completed. My teacher who taught me how to be a yoga teacher knows a lot about Costa Rica and I trusted that the second she launched her trip to Costa Rica I was giving her my deposit. This trip to Bodi Tree Resort in Costa Rica was a magical vacation I will always remember. I had many personal breakthroughs and had the chance to connect with a wonderful group of women. We shared stories about our lives and formed true friendships. Yoga is special because the practice is so much more than poses, yoga is an expression of life and when you get to travel to another country and see the beauty yoga has to offer it is a powerful feeling.
The Catskills was a spontaneous retreat I wanted to go on after seeing one of my favorite Hoboken yoga teachers post it on her social media. Originally, I wanted to go with my mom and she was busy so I was hesitant on going alone. Then I remembered all the other yoga trips I went on I did by myself, so one night a month before the trip I decided I was going to take the opportunity to experience a more local mini retreat in the beautiful town in upstate NY, the Catskills. This was one of the best decisions I ever made since this was my first retreat somewhere other than Cost Rica (which I've been to CR a total of 5 times lol) . In the Catskills, we focused on using nature to embrace your inner child with journal prompts and other meditative practices. This theme of the weekend was such a refreshing lesson I needed to relearn. As humans, we can get so caught up as we get older with the stress to fulfill certain expectations. When we take the time to reconnect with nature and be outside in the grass we can live like a child. Our senses become more alert and tuned into the present moment. This trip taught me how to be playful, silly, and grateful for yoga retreats.
The Joshua Tree retreat was a trip with my beloved Hoboken Yoga studio, Urban Souls. This studio was the first place that accepted me when I moved to Hoboken. I have gained so much wisdom and knowledge since I've become an Urban Souls yoga teacher and joined a community of incredible people. It is such a special yoga studio that embodies yoga beyond the mat doing countless community giveback initiatives and spreading joy throughout Hoboken. When I heard Urban Souls was hosting a Joshua Tree retreat I immediately wanted to sign up. A friend from yoga reached out to me and we both wanted to go on this yoga trip so we decided to book it and have a cool experience in mountains. This was such a great yoga retreat that gave me many realizations about my yoga journey. I have accumulated a great wealth of experiences that has given me aspirations to lead yoga trips myself.
With great risk comes great reward.
I had many moments this year where I have looked back and doubted myself. However, when I look ahead I see those past moments of self-doubt as stepping stones to get me where I am today. My yoga practice and journey as a human being is always evolving and I will never be perfect. There are so many positive memories I reminisce on when coming home from these yoga retreats. I keep thinking to myself more people need to do this.
After all these realizations, I have decided to host my first ever yoga retreat in 2025! This is going to be a big milestone in my path and I'm excited to learn everything planning a yoga retreat has to offer. I want to share my love of yoga retreats with all the people who wish to join and are curious about yoga. I believe living yoga and experiencing mindfulness is a new and enhanced way to travel the world.
I will be organizing my first ever retreat May 8th- 11th in 2025 in Long Beach Island, New Jersey and I am beyond thrilled. The seeds have been planted for a few years and now it's time for my vision to blossom into reality. Looking back on all my memories from yoga retreats, I'm so ready for this chapter of my life to begin. I'm so honored to have the blessings in my life that make it possible for me to live my dreams. Rooftop yoga, candle making class, vision boarding, beach time, pool days, and all the fun in between. Thank you to everyone who is helping make my retreat dream possible and thank you for believing in me. May all beings everywhere be happy and free <3
XOXO,
